Our Story

NC Foothills Jeep Tours is a family-run business built on a shared love for Jeeps, adventure, and the great outdoors.

For as long as we can remember, our family has been passionate about exploring the mountains and backroads of North Carolina. There is something special about loading up a Jeep, heading down a trail, and discovering places that most people never get the chance to see. Over the years, we spent countless weekends exploring forest roads, scenic overlooks, mountain trails, and hidden backcountry destinations throughout our beautiful state.

Along the way, we realized something.

Many people want to experience the beauty and excitement of North Carolina's mountains, but they don't own an off-road vehicle, don't know where to go, or simply don't feel comfortable venturing into the backcountry on their own.

That's why we started NC Foothills Jeep Tours.

Our mission is simple: to share our passion for the outdoors and create unforgettable adventures for families, friends, and fellow explorers. We want our guests to experience the breathtaking views, rugged trails, and hidden places that made us fall in love with North Carolina in the first place.

As a family-run business, we take pride in offering a personal experience. When you ride with us, you're not just booking a tour — you're joining a family that loves the outdoors and enjoys sharing that passion with others. Whether you're looking for a scenic mountain adventure or an exciting off-road experience, we're committed to making your trip safe, memorable, and fun.

At NC Foothills Jeep Tours, we're more than guides — we're outdoor enthusiasts, Jeep lovers, and a family that believes some of life's best memories are made beyond the pavement.

We look forward to sharing the adventure with you and showing you a side of North Carolina that few people ever get to experience.

See you on the trail,

Before You Go

Common Questions

Everything you need to know about planning your North Carolina High Country Jeep adventure.

What is a guided Jeep tour and what should I expect?

A guided Jeep tour is a private off-road excursion where a local guide drives you beyond the pavement to overlooks, forest roads, creek crossings, and backcountry trails most visitors never reach. You ride in a comfortable, lifted Jeep Wrangler with real factory seats and seat belts — no exposed safari benches — while your guide handles the driving, the route, and the storytelling. Just bring a camera and your sense of adventure.

Are your Jeep tours family friendly and good for kids?

Yes. Our tours are one of the most popular family activities in the North Carolina High Country. Because every tour is private to your group and rides in enclosed Jeeps with factory seat belts, they're comfortable and safe for kids, parents, and grandparents alike. We tailor the pace to your crew — from relaxed scenic rides to more rugged off-road adventures.

Where are your tours located and what's nearby?

We operate out of the Boone and Blowing Rock area in North Carolina's High Country, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. We're an easy add-on to a Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, or Linville trip and a popular day trip for visitors staying near Asheville, Charlotte, or along the Blue Ridge Parkway looking for things to do on the East Coast.

Do I need any off-road or four-wheel-drive experience?

None at all. Your professional local guide does all the driving on our standard tours, so you can simply relax and enjoy the views. If you want to learn to drive off-road yourself, our Bring Your Own 4x4 Training tour coaches you through line choice, traction, and trail technique in your own Jeep, Bronco, 4Runner, or Tacoma.

When is the best time of year to take a tour?

Tours run in every season. Late September through October brings spectacular fall foliage and is our busiest window, so book early. Spring and summer offer lush green trails, waterfalls, and cooler mountain temperatures, while winter delivers crisp, wide-open views. We watch conditions closely and build each day around the best the mountains are offering.

How long are the tours, how much do they cost, and how do I book?

Tours range from a 3–4 hour introductory adventure up to a full-day 6–8 hour expedition, priced per Jeep rather than per person — most start around $499–$549, with our flagship full-day Hurricane Creek Experience at $1,099 per Jeep. Reserve online through our booking form or call us at 828-414-1058, and we'll confirm availability within 24 hours.

Can you do private tours for special occasions or large groups?

Absolutely. Every tour is already private to just your group — no strangers riding along. We regularly host birthdays, anniversaries, proposals, family reunions, and corporate outings, and we'll build a custom excursion around exactly what you're after. Call us and we'll plan the perfect day.
